Santa Marķa Island belongs to
Antofagasta Province Group, IOTA SA-069.
This activation will be carry-out
by "ATACAMA DESERT DX GROUP", We will be on air between Oct. 08 - 10, 2005 on
bands 10,12,15,17,20,30, 40 and 6 mts. and modes : SSB, CW, RTTY and BPSK31.
Santa Maria Island is an uninhabited island visited by fishermen and
is located about 50 Kms north west of Antofagasta city. In the island is
possible to find a large variety of gulls, sea wolves, marine turtles,
albatrosses and cormorants. The island has one of most beautiful places for
diving and submarine hunts
Our group will visit it for second time, giving
to all IOTA chaser the opportunity to work this very rare IOTA.
