Sierra Leone, former British colony and protectorate (there was a bit of each), sits on the West African Atlantic coast between Guinea in the north and east, and Liberia in the south are neighbors. Mangrove swamps lie along the coast, with wooded hills and a plateau in the interior. The eastern region is mountainous. Read more »

VP6T Pitcairn Is. 2012

On air between January 20 and February 04, 2012 VP6T will operate on all 9 HF bands from 160 to 10 m.
The team will have three stations active to offer new band slots even on low bands. Propagation conditions should be enough high even towards Europe and USA.

Mediterraneo DX Club is a sponsor of the DXpedition, most wanted among DXCC and IOTA hunters. IOTA reference of Pitcairn is OC-063.


Malpelo 2012: DXpedition to be extended?

Malpelo DXpedition 2012 – Nov. 28, 2011

Recently three US members (K4UEE, N4GRN and W6IZT) of the Malpelo 2012 DXpedition flew to Cartagena, Colombia and met with six of their Colombian counterparts. The purpose of the two day meeting was to make some critical decisions about the upcoming DXpedition to Malpelo Island. Also, checklists and inventories were finalized and all team members’ responsibilities were assigned. Read more »

9N7MD: a piece of MDXC on air from Nepal

On air since Nov. 14, the most international team ever seen, composed by operators from North America (Mexico), South America (Chile), Europe (Italy, France, Belgium), Middle East (Israel) and South East Asia (Indonesia), is active on all bands from 160m to 10m.

Fortunately propagation is helping very well operations from the old and fascinating Hymalaian country; signals are strong and stable everywhere and on all frequencies. Furthermore, 9N7MD will be the 1st DXpedition active on 6m from Nepal. Read more »
