DXSpider node for SWL's (and BCL's)
by Stefano, I3-2782/VE

Finally, after various problems we have done it!

MDXC/SWL now have own DXCluster node for SWL's. The node is a modified version of DXSpider running on a Linux machine. You can connect either via telnet or via your favourite cluster software (such as HamRadio Deluxe, RDXCluster, RXClus, etc...) to this address:

swlcluster.dyndns.org 7300

Use with HamRadio Deluxe

In the logbook window click View -> DX Cluster -> Display

Click in the options and fill your personal data (Callsign, Locator, etc..)

Click in the "connection" tab and create a new definition. Insert swlcluster.dyndns.org as address and 7300 as port.

Now select your newly created node from the list and click connect. Congratulations! you are now connected into our node!

If you want to send spots you can do this by clicking "Add Spot" in the Add window of your logbook.

Telnet access

On windows: Open a command prompt by clicking start -> execute and type "cmd".

In the command prompt type: telnet swlcluster.dyndns.org 7300

Enter your callsign (without "-" or "/" symbols) and press enter. Now you are in the DXSpider console. Follow the instructions on your screen to set up filters or operate the cluster commands.

If you want, you can download the DXSpider user guide (in pdf format) with all the commands by clicking the link below. Always remember, the frequency is in kHz!

The web interface is in developement and will be visible soon in MDXC/SWL homepage.

Note

A special thanx goes to Brendan EI6IZ and Alessio IZ4EFN for providing the node connection to the cluster network.
